Questions You Might Have

What happens once I connect?

You’ll be connected the next business day with a licensed mental health professional. They’ll listen, talk with you about what you’re experiencing, and together you will create a plan for support.

Your plan may include mental health support, connection to specialized therapists in the community, psychiatry consultation, coordination of care with your doctor, referrals to community resources like support groups, resources for food, transportation, help with utilities, etc.

You will also receive ongoing check-ins to make sure you’re getting the help you need and feeling supported.

Is this truly free?

Yes — PeriConnect is free and confidential for expecting parents, parents of young children, and caregivers of infants and young children.

What if I’m in crisis?

PeriConnect is not a 24/7 crisis service. In an emergency, please call your local emergency number or crisis hotline.

  • HRSA Maternal Mental Health Hotline Call or text 1-833-TLC-MAMA (1-833-852-6262) English and Spanish
  • If you are in suicidal crisis, please call or text 988 or visit the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline https://988lifeline.org/

Do I need insurance?

No — you don’t need insurance to get connected and use this service.

I'd rather not fill out the online form, is there a phone number I can call or text instead?

At this time, we do not have a direct line that is fully staffed. If you have questions about the program, you can email us, and we will respond to your inquiry within one business day.
